Real Datsun 240Zs
I don't know the differences between the Datsun 240z, 260z, 280z or 300z, but here are some photographs of real Datsun 240Zs.
Datsun 240z, Classic Race Day, Castle Combe
I saw and photographed these 3 Datsun 240z at Castle Combe during the Classic Raceday. They were competing in the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) 70's Road Sports for the Wesprey Castings Trophy Race in Class B: All cars 2001cc - 3000c. In order, they were driven by Clive Foskett (33), Matthew Bannister (27) and Paul Stafford (26).
Datsun 240z at Rally Action Day, Castle Combe
I know this is a Datsun 240z as it says so on the back. I saw it at the Rally Action Day at Castle Combe. This Datsun 240z is still used for racing.
Jon Ayles, Classic Banger, Mendips Raceway
This Datsun has reached the end of its life as a banger car. I cannot tell exactly which model it is as the badges have been removed, with the rest of the trim, glass, interior etc to make it into a Classic Banger (came off the production line before 1975 and has an engine up to 2500cc). It was driven at the Mendips Raceway by Jon Ayles who is the reigning West of England Champion. The car survived the day and was retired before the start of the demolition derby so that it would be available next time the Classic Bangers compete at the Mendip Raceway.
Road Going Datsuns at Spring Action Day, Castle Combe
These Datsuns were seen at the Spring Action Day at Castle Combe. This is an opportunity for car owners to show off their cars then if they want, do a few laps of the circuit at high speed. I think most of these Datsuns did a few laps on the track. If my memory card hadn't failed, I would have more photos of them in action!
This first car is a Datsun 260z (according to the badge).
This is also a Datsun 260z.
The badges on this car say it is a Datsun 280ZX Fairlady Z.
No badges (except for the one saying Datsun) so I have no idea quite which model it is.
